According to Pokémon fansite Serebii, the only Hoopa event for Pokémon Sun & Moon so far took place in Japan, so Sun & Moon players from other regions are currently out of luck. Hoopa is also an Event Pokémon, which means it can’t be found readily in-game (at least not without hacking) and is only available via distribution events. It was one of three new Mythical Pokémon introduced during Generation VI alongside Rock/Fairy type Diancie and Fire/Water type Volcanion. While it doesn’t evolve in a mega Pokémon, Hoopa does have an alternate form - the powerful Hoopa Unbound, a Psychic/Dark type which is activated using a Prison Bottle but lasts for just three days. First introduced during Generation VI, Hoopa is – in its default form – a dual-type Psychic/Ghost Pokémon known as Hoopa Confined. Hoopa, meanwhile, was first discovered by Pokémon hackers in 2013 but officially revealed in a 2015 issue of Japan’s CoroCoro magazine.
